I just love this image, don't you! It is just so cute!
Of course I used my favorite color, it's a wedding so why wouldn't I use my favorite color right, Turquoise/Aqua. I even took there picture on the Turquoise post fencing outside!

A STICK, SUN TEA AND A BLOG HOP WITH PRAIRIE FAIRY!!!

This week at Prairie Fairy the challenge is very interesting!!!!

Yup, I made a Journal and not a card!!!

Sugar Fairy is making Sun Tea on the cover of my Journal!

Well here it is!!

Wrapped inside the binding for my Journal!

I wrapped a stick inside this cloth paper and used it to help bind my book. Instead of glues, I like to put holes through the paper's and use string or ribbon to embellish my binding and tie the book at the same time!

You can always leave your stick plain and uncovered for a rustic look too.

If you wrap your papers around the back your strings will blend in and continue to be apart of the art work!

Iv'e been creating these for year's and I hadn't done one for a really long time. When Roberta said, "use a stick" my brain just jumped for joy immediately!!

What a way to end my GD term with a new item from me and a Blog Hop!

SWEET STAMPIN CHALLENGE #23, SKETCH

We have a wonderful and fun sketch for you at "Sweet Stampin" Challenge Blog this week!!
It was really a fun and easy one to put together. Either that or I am just getting used to sketches! LOL!

Above is my card for this weeks sketch challenge. I used one of my new Cow Girl Up Stamp images! I really like this one alot!

BUT WAIT!

So I do not know who invented stick on ribbon, but bless there heart they saved my a**! I loooked at the sketch and freak'd! I forgot the small strip in the middle! I just bought this pack of Martha Stewart self stick on sale yesterday, 4 for 1.49! It saved me! YAY! I just couldn't believe it! The strip goes from edge to edge and not all the way across, and it saved ribbon too! I was so relieved! Thank God! But you should have heard me, @#$!%&()!&^%@$.....

I used my Prisma Pencils, K&C DP, Wild Orchid Flowers.

"DISTRESSING WITH PRAIRIE FAIRY"

This week at "Prairie Fairy" the challenge is to use a distressing technique. Now don;t get stressed about distressing! Distressing can be fun! You can rip, tear, crumple, sponge, sand whatever you feel like doing to get the look you want.

As you can see in my card, I tore papers! I tore the pick layer paper as well as around Miss Mousie! Which was funny cause while ripping I almost took off her tail! LOL! So be careful if you are working around your image you have already colored. Miss Mousie would have looked like the cat got her! LOLOL!

I went simple this week for the challenge! I was in a simple kind of mood and this image just has so much to offer that sometimes she just doesn't need that much.

I know I have used Miss Mousie before, but I love her! She is just one of my fav's. Besides that my printer is tak'n a dive and so I was happy that I had some images already printed.

If you are a digi user, keep some extra images printed just in case, you never know!!

PAPER TAKE SKETCH CHALLENGE WITH SEW MANY CASTLE!!

I used another FAB image from "Sew Many Cards", Sand Castle! This is an Awesome image for me as I grew up in a surf beach town with advocate surfers, so when I wasn't riding I was hang'n on the beach! We built lots of Sand Castles!! Yes, I used to surf and only do so now if I am in Hawaii which means it's been a while. LOL!!!

But I do love this image! It is so cute with the patches! You can find this image and many other darling images at the "Sew Many Cards Store".

"SWEET STAMPIN" HAS ALL OF US IN STITCHES!! ( funny humuors, or faux, real stiching)

This week at "Sweet Stampin" challenge blog we are IN STITCHES which you can interpret as Funny, Humuorous, Faux or Real Stitching!!!

OK! So my sewing machine took a big crap on me a few months ago!! I am not good at Faux stitching, worse than my old school circles....................... So I went with the funny kind of stitches! I had this weird idea when I couldn't sleep. Showed my daughter the image I stamped. She cracked up! Now mind you she is 15, but she is sicker than a dog so if she laughed I figured, what the hey, it's funny!

Come on you know you love my Ant chasing the Chef on the front of my dinner invitation! LOLOL!

I used this super super old stamp that I don't even remember where I picked it up! I just know it is about 15 years old and it was a non-mounted stamp! You should see the funky funny rubber this stamp is glued to. One of my first mount it yourself jobs! Now this is humuorous within itself! LOL! As well as the Ant!
My paper is from a Colorbook paper pack I picked up at Michael's in the $1.00 section! They have so much FAB stuff in this section, at times!
My ribbon is from Michael's too
The frame on the You're Invited is from a funny lil' pack with no name I picked up at the Dollar Store

I used my Very Old School, I mean a good 22 year old Prisma colored pencil's and added some oil for smootheness.
My background DP is from this funny paper pack by Colorbook my Mom picked up for me
My squares are out of paper from a K&C mini paper book
I created my sentiment by computer

Funny I usually add bling or flowers or both but today I just kept to the sketch and liked it!

"PRAIRIE FAIRY FUN FRIDAYS" HAS AN EYELETS AND STING CHALLENGE

Being on the Design Team for "Prairie Fairy Fun Friday's" has been a blast!!!

The challenge's are so much fun and visiting everyone's blog's to see what they have entered has been simply awesomely fun!! Everyone is so creative and the Design Team just WOW's me every week!!!

I must say that this week's challenge has actually been a challenging yet fun challenge for me! First of all I have this wonderful little tackle box full of eyelets! LOL! I am not good at using eyelets at all! I couldn't tell someone how to use one right if my life depended on it!! String, not something I usually use but I love the effect it has on my card so I plan to use more string in the future!! This has been a blast of a challenge!

I water colored this lovely fishing bear "Fisher Beary" that can be found at the "Prairie Fairy Store"! This image is a ton of fun to work with and opens up so many possiblilities in making a card or craft! I love him!!! You just have to take the time to check out the "Prairie Fairy Store"!

I used single sheets of papers I picked up from Michael's craft store's sale! I like the back DP it reminded me of water and although I think they are supposed to be leaves my brain said, "Turn this paper sideways and you have fish tails"! I used three differnt colors of eyelets and a few differnt colors of string and of course I just can't foget to add bling so Fisher Beary gets some gemmies too!

SEW EXCITED!!! MY FIRST SEW MANY DT CARD! I GET TO USE IT FOR SEW MANY OTHER CHALLENGES!!

Hello to all of my Crafty Friends out there in crafty card & scrapper blog land!

This week marks the first week of my "Sew Many Cards Challenges" Design Team Position! I am so super excited!!! Can you tell!

This is my first DT card! I love it! I think it's bright and fun!

SWEET STAMPIN COLOUR CHALLENGE ENDS FRIDAY!

I have been a little quiet this week! Sick kid, tons of rain on the ranch, my lovely escape artist barrel horse leading the herd to the neighbors pastures (which is like 500 acers, UGH!), and lot's going on! So if you haven't heard from me, I'm here just quiet this week!

WONDERFUL COLOUR CHALLENGE @ "SWEET STAMPIN"

This week there is a lovely Colour challenge at "Sweet Stampin" Challenge Blog.


This is the Colour chart for you to follow! Your colour's do not have to be exact, but as close as possible would be nice!

Working with a Colour challenge is so much fun! You can be so creative with these colours!!!

For this weeks "Sweet Stampin" challenge you can be as cerative with these colours as your little creative heart desires! You can create a card, 3D object, Scrap Page or surprise us with your creativity! I can tell you we have had some really interesting and creative art entered into out weekly challenges!

At the very top of this post is my card for this week! I used a lot of the Not Quite Navy and the Bashful Blue with a splash of the Kraft and Pretty in Pink. You can mix and match the colours anyway you would like just make sure to use at least three of the four.

I entered my card in a DT call as well. Pray for me! I really liked how this one turned out. My daughter said it was her favorite! Hope you all like it too!!

TIP TOE THROUGH THE BUTTERFLIES WITH "PRAIRIE FAIRY FUN FRIDAY'S"

Isn't it just a gorgeous photo??? I loved it!
I am just having such a great time being a Guest Designer for "Prairie Fairy"!!
However, inspiration picture's ususally aren't the easiest for me to work off of! LOL! I think I drove my daughter crazy going through papers. I had her help. The funny part is that when she came back in the room to look at my progress she just rolled her eye's and walked away. WHY? Well because I used completely differnt paper than she had helped me pick out! LOL!
She thinks I am card crazy or a crazy crafter! LOL!!



So this is my card! I love this lil' Fairy girl!! She is just so cute! Today I have her Tip Toeing through the Butterflies (I didn't have any Tulips) and flowers. If you look at my ribbon, they are the same flowers and match the inspiration picture. What do you think??

IT'S A MANS WORLD THIS WEEK AT "SWEET STAMPIN"

This week is a wonderful challenge at "Sweet Stampin"

~"IT'S A MANS WORLD!"

This week for ITS AMANS WORLD the idea is to creat a crafty project for a Man.

Something that you could give to or represents a man.

Now I always hear that it is so super hard to create a crafty item for a Man.

I know that most of the crafty items that you see around either look like they are for a female or are made for a female, but I can tell yo that even pink can be a Mans color. YUP! Head on over to the "Sweet Stampin" Challenge Blog and check out the incredible projects that our DT have created to inspire you! They are awesome and they use some colors like pink and flowers too!

Above is my card for "ITS A MANS WORLD". I decided that i was going to go back to Stamping. Back when I began stamping, about 17-18 years ago now, stamping was about stamping. It was based on the image and either creating a scene like above, or just making your image rock! We embossed and colored. There was not all of the embellies that we use today and white card stock was the base. We then added color and maybe some papers and then you got a little creative! Crafters, we have completely evolved...........................Trust Me!

Anyways, I decided to go back to scene stamping. The entire pic is made of stamps. I did the background with a cosmetic sponge and by putting ink on the spunge I dabbed the ink around to create the ground, sand and sky. Otherwise it's just stamps paper and a small frilly in the top corner. I like the jungle theme for men. It seems to work well.

Now don't forget! This is not a sketch so you can be crafty and create whatever you would like for the Man theme. Surprise us! 3D object? Scrap Page? Somthing Else? Let's see it, your crafty project!

Guess What?????? It's April!

If you check my blog often or have entered into my candy you know that I am a huge fan of Roberta and her "Prairie Fairy Friday's" challenge blog and her Digi Stamps from her "Prairie Fairy" store. You also know that I launched a candy give away because I was invited to be a Guest Designer for "Prarie Fairy" for the month of April. It's April!!!!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!

Above is my card for my first challenge as a Guest Designer! The theme is TEXTURE.

Miss Mousie is a Digi Image by none other than Roberta herself! Isn't she just the cutest?? She is available for purchase at the Prairie Fairy Digi Store. I just love her!

RECIPE and INFO: LOL!

1. Miss Mousie by Prairie Fairy

2. I used these really old Water Color Pencils that I have by Staedtler which gave Miss Mousie a painted look and added "TEXTURE" to the card. When you run your fingers over her you can feel the ripply paint.

3. Paper is from K&C Company Mat Pad, Best Occasions, and Bazzil Basic. My paper has "TEXTURE". The plain card stock is called textured card stock and the entire pad is just chalked full of textured papers.

4. I used Fun Stamps Fun Flock to give Miss Mousie a soft fuzzy~furry TEXTURE feeling when you run your fingers over her. This flock is about 15 years old. At least!

5. I have no idea who makes the flowers they came in a secret sister package for Chirstmas.

6. Button came from my stash won from Instyle Stamps along with the ribbon

7. Strawberry is from Chris Sather another Secret Sister
